PSD Training Group - Emergency First Aid Course

The Emergency First Aid course is recommended for those who are to be Appointed as Emergency First Aiders. It is not a TRAUMA MEDIC or EMERGENCY REMOTE MEDIC course.

A 1 day course, the subject matter included on this course covers the following subjects:

• Principles of First Aid at Work

• Resuscitation

• Control of Bleeding

• Unconsciousness

• Burns & Scalds

• Duties of First Aid Appointed Persons

• First Aid Kits/Box Contents

The candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Emergency Resuscitation

• External Chest Compressions

• Electrical Injuries

• Control of Bleeding

• Care of the Unconscious

• Other First Aid Dangers

I would rate the overall three weeks a nine out of ten. I would suggest it to anyone looking to learn about or get employed into PSD work in a high risk setting. Some people have gotten so much out of it and enjoyed it so much, they've come back and done it again. There are 3-4 of us that are considering taking their CP course and SIA Certification.
