PSD Training Group- Your Questions - Answered

We receive telephone calls and emails on a daily basis from serving and former Army, Royal Air Force, Navy and Royal Marines people, we also get calls from civilians who are concerned this is an "EX MILITARY" business. The questions are simple enough and could be answered by any training company willing to do so. Problem is, not all of them are! Question - I need my SIA license, what course do I take?
Answer - depends on what level of expertise you are currently at. If you currently work in the Close Protection/PSD market, you maybe able to attend the 5 day refresher course. If you wish to work overseas on High risk contracts, the High Risk PSD Operator course would be best. Question - Are there any restrictions on people who take the course, is there a criteria to meet?

Question - Do I have to have previous military or law enforcement experience to come on your course?
Answer - NO, it is that simple, we have had previous students without this experience and they have done extremely well, even attained top student, which proves that raw talent can be the best.

 Question - Do you guarantee employment?
Answer - No we do not and we never have. No TRAINING company can, or should. We do however, assist suitable candidates into positions with our strategic partners.

Question - I'm a former Para/Marine/Infantrymen surely I don't need to attend your course to be a PSD Operator?
Answer - No, you don't need to, but how much do you know about High Risk Close Protection, Security Advance Party drills? Residential Security Team drills? Venue Security Team? Counter Attack Team drills, Convoy Driving drills? Site Surveys? Route Planning? IEDs ????? Bad drills, get people killed, Egos get people killed!

Question - How much money can I make?
Answer - That will depend on where you work, who you work for and what you work as, working offshore has its benefits, tax free income as well as high salaries paid for PSD Operatives, average earnings are in the region of $500 a day

Question - How long are the contracts?
Answer - That will depend on where you work, who you work for and what you work as, average contracts are between 4 weeks and 12 months
